The device recognized the card without any problems, and there was no formatting required. Since then it has done its job very well without anything I could complain about. It is important to know that the BB Curve 8320 is not able to handle micro SD-HC cards with a capacity higher than 4 GB, so don't bother spending money on a larger version. However, I was able to format it on my computer and then use it on my BlackBerry Pearl (which does support SDHC technology).
